8 hours? 0,- desire by Marie Thams Published by Hour Editions (Copenhagen) from the series Not not work.
8 hours? 0,- desire is a publication and sound work by Marie Thams that combines text, voice and printed matter. The work consists of a set of three audio cards and reflects on some of the conflicts the artist experiences in her working conditions: 8 hours? - resisting - or overworked? (do we ever not work?); 0,- greeting the abyss (when in lack of fee or fair payment); desire - insist on the immaterial! (intention over material needs).
The publication is a handmade edition of 25, each card was recorded individually by the artist and so highlights the performative aspects of work.
Hour Editions’ ongoing series Not not work deals with the complexities of labour, work and productivity within the contemporary art practice. 8 hours? 0,- desire is the 6th publication in the series to date.
During the event, Marie Thams and curator and art critic Maria Bordorff will have a performative conversation in which they diagnose the art worker phenomena with the use of a light box and scanned objects.
Kristina Bengtsson and Kevin Malcolm from Hour Editions will present the other publications from the Not not work series.
The performative conversation will start at 17.00

8 hours? 0,- desire af Marie Thams Udgivet af Hour Edition (Copenhagen) som en del af deres Not not work serie.
8 hours?
8 hours?
